Al has thirty years of experience practicing maritime and personal injury law. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from L.S.U. in 1984 and his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School in 1989.  Al has passed the Louisiana State Bar Exam in 1989. Thereafter, he worked for the New Orleans City Attorney’s Office from 1989 to May of 1994, dealing with legal issues of government administration and civil litigation, including being counsel for the city’s worker’s compensation department, its department of finance, and its department of streets.

Subsequently, Al engaged primarily in maritime and personal injury law for Darleen M. Jacobs/Jacobs, Sarrat, Lovelace & Harris, from 1994 to December 2023, dealing with all aspects of the civil litigation process. He is admitted to the Eastern, Middle, and Western District Courts of Louisiana, the Southern District of Texas, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and all Louisiana state courts, in addition to pro hac vice appearances in the Southern District of Mississippi and Southern District of Alabama.
